Did you know, it's only 1hr30mins on a very relaxing train ride from Carlisle to Edinburgh? A fantastic day trip that we would highly reccommend
If you're anything like us you'll agree that holidays are a time for coffee and cake! Here's another one of our favourites and so close to Tottergill it's the perfect place for a little afternoon outing!
Sometimes it's nice to go to the Lake District and enjoy some of the less touristy areas. Especially in the height of Summer when the popular towns are the most busy. Why not try sometheing different and head for Elterwater, Langdale or Rydel Water with a visit to Chesters by the River en-route?
Gretna Gateway Outlet Village is already very popular with a few of our guests. Just over the Scottish Border, you'll probably have heard of Gretna before, but did you know it's also a great place to shop til you drop?!/p>
Houghton Hall is more than just a garden centre. With so much to offer both for young and … older! … it’s an enjoyable outing for all the family.
Family activities, outdoor adventure, culture & the arts, food & drink – all under one, grass-covered roof! What more could you want from a day out? The Rheged Centre is a brilliant day out and a good rainy day option too.
We love the Cumbrian town of Kendal for a day out or for a stop off as part of a trip to The Lake District. Its characterful town centre boasts a great selection of shops, ranging from well-known high street brands, to quirky individual businesses and lots of great places to rest your legs for a good lunch or a coffee and cake treat too!
For those of you fond of a good café crawl when you go on holiday, a trip to Orton Grange is a must! Located just south of Carlisle , 15 miles from Tottergill, it’s a nice trip to do on a rainy day. It’s not just the café that’s worth a visit though, there’s the newly opened Cranston’s farm shop which stocks a whole host of delicious locally sourced produce and goodies, as well as a gift shop and quilting supplies shop. Something for everyone!
