A Wander and Woollen Wonders at Talkin Tarn
We've blogged about Talkin Tarn before, but there's something special going on there at the moment that deserves a closer look!
For a while we've noticed some interesting piles of rocks, known as Cairns, perched atop one of the nearby fells to Tottergill. We decided it was finally time to go and get a closer look...
Each of our cottages has a packet of walking maps that we've created to show walks right from the doorstep and help you make the most of getting outdoors and exploring the area while you're staying with us. This week, we decided to pretend we were on holiday here and took one of those maps with us and away we went.
If you're looking for a walk that's suitable for young children, push chairs and wheelchairs or just want a little wander that's not too strenuous, then Talkin Tarn is the place for you. A short picturesque loop, only 4 miles away from Tottergill, it even has a tea room and serves ice cream for some refreshments afterwards
