Grizedale Forest is a beautiful place to visit and there really is something for all ages. Why not hire bikes and go exploring the network of well-marked cycle tracks meandering through the forrest, for a variety of abilities. Or, for the younger ones there's a fun "Gruffalo Trail" with activities marked along the way as well as the new "Tree Top Junior" a GoApe ropes course for little monkeys! There's also the option for some Forest Segway fun which we'd like to go back and try. But, for the ultimate exhilirating experience, view the beauty of the forrest from the air, flying at up to 30miles an hour on a 2 hour zip lining adventure, navigating a total of 3km of zip wires! This is what we came for and we weren't dissappointed. Suitable for children and adults from age 13 and up, it's a fantastic fun experience and a great way to see some of the Lake District from a different angle!!
Grizedale Forest is a bit of a drive away, but there's certainly lots to do in and around the area, so why not pack a picnic and make a day of it? We can also reccommend the cafe next to the Go Ape office, or Fish and Chips in Keswick on the way home! :) (....or both, like we did!!)
