The weather was a little bit hit and miss but we decided to go for an adventure out on the fells. Map in hand, and rain gear in tow, off we went in search of the mysterious Cairns on top of Talkin Fell. The walk can be done right from our door step, which we did, or, parking right at the head of the trail as shown on the Mark Richard's Walking Map which we were using. (Found here) If the weather had been a little clearer, we're sure we would have had a spectacular view from the top, but, all that to say, there was a certain magical beauty about the mist as it hovered around the Cairns. This walk is very steep in parts and more suitable for the adventuourous types looking for an invigorating breath of Cumbrian air with high rewards in the form of stunning panoramic views!
